چکیده

Loop checking is a mechanism used to prune infinite SLD-derivations. Here we study two classes of loop checking mechanisms subsumption checks and context checks. We analyze their soundness, completeness relative strength and related concepts. We prove their soundness (no computed answer substitution to a goal is missed) and derr~nstrate their completeness (all resulting derivations are finite) for some classes of logic programs. The completeness theorems for the subsumption checks make use of a simple version of Kruskal's Tree Theorem [K], called Higman's Lemma [H]. This paper is a sequel to Apt, Bol and Klop [ABK] where a formal framework for studying loop checking mechanisms was introduced and where so-called equality checks were studied.

he Impacts of Bounced Checks on Economic Growth Through the Banking Credit Risk Channel Emphasis on Enforcement of Laws: Provincial Panel Approach

This study investigates the relation between bounced checks and economic growth through the banking credit risk channel by estimation of a simultaneous equation system with panel data for 31 Iranian provinces covers the years from 2011 to 2015. For this purpose, after identifying determinants of the bounced checks, the relations of this variable with the non-performing loans, banking loans and ...

Comparing Subsumption Optimizations

Effective systems for expressive description logics require a heavily-optimised subsumption checker incorporating a range of optimisation techniques. Because of the correspondence between description logics and propositional modal logic most of these techniques carry over into propositional modal logic satisfiability checking. Some of the techniques are extremely effective on various test suite...

Automatic Verification of Hybrid Systems

We address the problem of model checking hybrid systems which exhibit nontrivial discrete behavior and thus cannot be treated by considering the discrete states one by one, as most currently available verification tools do. Our procedure relies on a deep integration of several techniques and tools. A first-order extension of AND-Inverter-Graphs (AIGs) serves as a compact representation format f...

Avoiding Tests for Subsumption

Useful equivalence-preserving operations based on antilinks are described. These operations eliminate a potentially large number of subsumed paths in a negation normal form formula. Those anti-links that directly indicate the presence of subsumed paths are characterized. These operations are useful for prime implicant/implicate algorithms because most of the computational effort in computing th...

An Improved Subsumption Testing Algorithm for the Optimal-Size Sorting Network Problem

In this paper a new method for checking the subsumption relation for the optimalsize sorting network problem is described. The new approach is based on creating a bipartite graph and modelling the subsumption test as the problem of enumerating all perfect matchings in this graph. Experiments showed significant improvements over the previous approaches when considering the number of subsumption ...
